Same location on different boards?
« on: October 17, 2010, 11:16:30 pm »
I want to be able to place one banner ad at location "Top Message Index" on a particular board and then a different ad at the same location on a different board.  Said differently, I want to define multiple locations all at the "Top Message Index" location but each on a different board.

How do I do this?  I have tried "Add Location" but I am not getting my ad at the top of the message index on the board I select.

SMF 2.0 RC and Ad Seller Pro Ver 1.0.5.1 and the default theme.

Currently you would have to define a new ad location then add each ad location to the template file.

If you need I can an option when add an add to define which boards to show the ad on I can add that later tomorrow if needed.

I have assumed that I would need to add a custom location for each individual board that I wanted to use.  What I could not figure out was how to make the custom location appear on (be on) one board only.  If you added that option it would be perfect.

It would be a little tricky if used custom locations. You would need to add a custom location for each board. Such as called it Message Index Top Board 1 then make another called Message Index Board 2 etc. Then for each location set the visibility settings to be only the board needed.

Once the custom location is added click on the get location code which will be the php code to add. You would then copy that code below the original message index template code for ad seller pro.

But think it will be a little easier if we just include on the add ad page.

1.0.6
+Added board setting for ad's to allow you to display an ad on only one ad location.
Useful for message index ad location, and the display ad locations and can be used for others as well.

Ok thanks. Now, I want one ad to be "Top Message Index" on one of my boards and a different ad at the same location on a different board.  Give me the short version of the instructions on how to do it.

Steps first make sure your location (Top Message Index) is set to visible on all boards.

Next when you add an ad there is now a board checkbox list make sure that checkall boards is unchecked then just select the board that you want the ad to display on and you should be set.
