noob install question

I'm pretty new to simple machines and I have purchased the ad seller pro mod. My question is regarding the install: I want to download it from my desktop to my forum- isnt it supposed to be in a zip file or is there another way to install the mod?

There should be a zip file/link sent in email when you purchased. You would do download that zip file to your computer. Then upload and install it using SMF's package manager.

I downloaded it from the link in the email and it comes down as a file, not a zipped file. Any ideas?

I tried zipping it myself but my forum said the file was incomplete or corrupted.
