CAPTCHA-based code verification
« on: July 17, 2006, 07:03:20 pm »
I would like one of these. The one that I have found at SMF  says that its not compatible with my forum. I have no idea why. But you seem to make mods that instal instantly.

Why I would like this is so that I can turn off the verification email that sends out after joining and Just have code verification.

I think this will make it even more user friendly as spam filters now-a-days maybe not letting the email in. Hence I am getting a few members join but not activating.

Plus it hooks members straight away into the forum as they sign up and are registered... confirmed...and able to login instantly.  No time to change their minds and delete the confirm email.

I know it works for me when I join other sites that have it.

What do you think?

OK I have finally got CAPTCHA (Code Verification) to work on my site. It is one I have tried before.

Now the good thing is I can turn off verification email so that it is more user friendly. Now they just enter the captcha code to register. I don't have to worry about potential members getting the verification email though their Spam blockers.

CAPTCHA (Code Verification)  can  be found here at SMF http://mods.simplemachines.org/index.php?mod=277

Is that ok to post?
