I am just trying to run my first newsletter, set up a cron job and I get the email notification from the server below:

/home2/......../www/forum/newscron2.php: line 1: ?php: No such file or directory
/home2/......../www/forum/newscron2.php: line 2: syntax error near unexpected token `"display_errors",1'
/home2/......../www/forum/newscron2.php: line 2: `ini_set("display_errors",1);'

no e-mails sent - any ideas?

wget http://www.yoursite.com/newscron2.php

Or do a php command line called to excute that php script

trying out

results in:

2011-08-14 23:14:01 ERROR 500: Internal Server Error.

I think the first option might be easier to achieve since I am already half way there...

Any idea why I get the 500 error?

Change permissions on the newscron2.php to 755
