Categories/number of pictures

Hello! One question: I have some categories in my Gallery with sub-categories. I don't have any picture in my main categories, but I have in my sub-categories. On the index page "Total images" says 0. Is it a way to count pictures in the sub-categories, so the number will show up on the index-page?

I hope you understand what I mean..... :-)

Under gallery settings check off this setting "Counts child categories picture totals"
