Working out a price to charge for ad package
« on: April 08, 2012, 02:46:39 am »
I'm setting up an ad package now on my new forum. At the moment I only have a few members - it will grow much larger very soon. I'm getting it set up and organised before opening it to a current membership I have via my business. So there will be an audience there soon.

My challenge is how much to charge for an ad package?  I'm not sure where to find out that information or what the 'going' rate might be on forums?  How do I find this out please?

It really depends on what you think you can get.
Research other forums that are similar and see what they charge for advertising/sponsors

Varies depending on how much traffic, new people you have coming to your forum, and what your forum's subject matter is.

To expand a little on what our fearfless leader said about researching other forums....

Go to sites which would be your direct competitors.  Since they already have advertisers, they have advertising packages and a link to become one.  All you have to do is request their ad pricing info.  It will give you rates, sizes, locations, requirements, policies, features, etc.  You can compare and see how you want to fit yours in to be competitive with them.
