limiting days for front page...

i just updated the gallery ... and damn it ... i used the patch the template for the front page, to just show the last 30 days on front page for the sections ... top voted, top rated, last commented and stuff, and i just have to hack it in again ... with that damn limitation for not allowing sub-queries in the smf forum ... please, can you add a feature to make this an option ? e.g. limit the number of days relevant for the front page teasers ß1?!?!?!
