Guests can purchase digital downloads using secure download link?

I would like to let guest purchase digital downloads.

I see these to option.

1. Allow Guests to purchase items without a membership on the forum. Note: This will not work for digital products
2. Guests can purchase digital downloads using secure download link

The first one says it will not work for digital products, so on number 2 what is a secure download link?

Forgot to change the verbage on the text for #1.
Guests purchases will work with a secure download link for digital items.

Sends the buyer and email with a link that is generated for them to the file.

Ok, so for a guest to purchase a digital download is seem it only works if I have both #1 and #2 checked.
That's how it should work?
