Names of images

Hi,

The names of the images which are uploaded to the gallery are like 160_11_04_07_1_56_25.jpg and I don't think it's good for search engines.
Is it possible that, if I name the image mamma, the the name of the image is: mamma-i17.jpg where i17 is there not to have confusions.
Can this be a request?

Might be a good request.
I would first work on the page urls first then worry about the image filenames.

It might take away your non-english buyers, cause people use different languages to name their files. Unless you plan on installing some type of converter into english.

This thead is old b was this ever considered as a fix or extra option? Cuz I sure would prefer to use the original filename during upload.

It's easier to find certain files that way and it's also not using up half the amount of characters as with these unique names. Obviously we'd need to have each category or album have it's own folder too else the change of files with similar filenames simply is too high. I'd prefer to have those different folders also because it takes the load off the servers by not having thousands and thousands of files in the same folder.

The main issue with real file names is the potential for conflict. Let say user uploads 1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg then and another user could do the same thing.

We do have an option to use multiple folders for storage there is a setting that auto creates a new folder every 1000 images.

Ah thanks I wondered when the new folder would kick in. 1.000 files per folder is acceptable. So it's not an option to create a new folder for every new album/category created?

Currently it is just based on the number of files. The issue with category level folders is you can have a category lets say with 10,000 files in it.
