Banner Website Destination
« on: October 27, 2012, 06:40:38 pm »
Banner Website Destination always adds my site in front of the chosen url. It's then difficult to regain access to the site. Any ideas?

Yes. I've done that. Text ads work ok except that they always align to the left and if I insert an ad with no website it tries to connect to somewhere anyway and throws an error, something like 'this link is going nowhere'. A banner ad will not upload and throws the server out for about 10 minutes. I get 'server reset connection'. Strange, because Gallery Pro and attachments to SMF etc. work fine.

What SMF version? And what type of banner are you uploading?
Also any related errors in your forum's error log.

The error message doesn't shed any light.

Do you have a link to a page where this occurs?

This is the forum but there can be no link to the 'page affected'. It is thrown off by the server as I explained. My hosts Enom say that the Package Manager in SMF is causing the problem with the Apache server taking 'ownership' of the files. . They say I should install Adseller Pro via Filezilla instead. What's the correct way of doing that and will I still have the uninstall option in Package Manager if things go wrong?

The package manager is the easy way to do it.

I would maybe ask that part at general SMF support forums simplemachines.org

But you can manually install the mod but there would not be an uninstall option you would have to reverse the manual changes you did.
Here is a link to find the manual install instructions for the mod http://www.smfhacks.com/smf-package-parser.html
