I would like to get a idea on how much to charge for the ad service? Setting up the ad packs how many days or images for how much?

What I would do is fine competing sites and see what they offer.
Then make packages based on that. You could go higher or lower in price depending on what value you think your ad package offers.

Generally newer sites may do packages for one month time, 3 months or 6 months.

My site is 6 years in the making and all the hobby people around the world know it.

Well two options for advertising.
You can either do flat rate unlimited impressions per month

Or fixed amount of impressions per month which would depend on your sites traffic.

Do you get paid for the banner on the main site for http://www.sshobbies.com ? If so I would do a similiar package.
