sub domain
« on: December 30, 2012, 02:35:13 pm »
im sure it is .like this everywhere, but competing forums in the hyundai scene dont linke it is you post links to other hyundai sites. especially if the site is corporate owned and you are a private owner. I want to use classifieds to give users the ability to post a link without my forum name in the link. that way they can post the lsiting on the "down low." this way they can reach multiple similar forums without having to check every one of thos forums everyday. they can come to my forum and seeif the item is sold. id there a way to have this mod listed on  different domain that is linked to mine. Obviously a sub domain is not the proper term, as it wouls be xxx.atmyforum.com. so do I use a parked domain or what ever they are called. I just want an abbreviated name of my forum so that it comes to my siite f clicked but it doesnt appear as a forum for a hyundai site in the posted url

It could be done just update the license to point to the new domain/subdomain instead. SMF Classifieds requires a forum though so there would need to be a forum on that site too.

what if I used something like pretty url's to shorten it up or somethin just for a link to that page. would that work. It would still be the domain.
I am only 3 months into this stuff so i still have a lot to learn :)
