PayPal problem with payment, or mine?

Yesterday I amended to following code in adseller.english.php, to include some extra information after </a>

The very first transaction after I uploaded this returned an error from PayPal,

"unable to complete transaction contact merchant or complete transaction using alternative method if available"

It was a new PayPal account so is the error as a result of my edits or a problem at the client's end. There's nothing in my PayPal account or on my server logs.

Having removed the edits the PayPal transaction was completed successfully. I am accustomed to making edits to language files to adapt to local circumstances or convey extra information. What I was trying to do in this case was convey step-by-step information about how to upload an ad to clients as no such guide exists that I can find. It would be helpful in this regard to know what can and cannot be edited.

If it was just that one edit I do not see how that can cause any trouble since it is on the thankyou page after paypal is completed.

Error log doesn't look related.

The only relation I can see is that the iphone address is that of the client who failed to complete the transaction.

If you're telling me it is safe to place html code after the </a> and before the '; of the text in adseller.english.php I'll replace it and see if it affects the next transaction. As you say it may be something completely unrelated. Have you seen that error from PayPal before and do you have any idea what it signifies?

You should be fine with that. Never seen that paypal error before.
