Membergroup After Subscritpion Expires

I'm using SMF Store 2.0 and I'm wondering what the membergroup for a user will change back to when the subscription has expired.

Will the user's membergroup switch to a regular memebergroup when the subscription has expired?

Or, will the user's memebergroup switch back to their last memebergroup when the subscription has expired?

I'm going to have some users set to a "Subscribed" membergroup and then switched to a "Premium" memebergroup upon purchasing a subscription.  Once the subscription has expired I'd like them to switch back to the "Subscribed" memebergroup and not the primary membergroup.

It will switch back to whatever primary membergroup they had previously I believe. So if they are part of another primary group and subscribe and then expires it goes back to that original group.
