SEF url issue
« on: July 17, 2013, 04:19:50 am »
I have installed the classified add on but it is giving error on sef url
here is my forum
http://www.plumbers.co.nz/forum/classifieds/sa=view;id=6

when I click on buy it now it takes me to http://www.plumbers.co.nz/forum/classifieds&sa=placebuy&id=6 and gives 404 not found  error.
however when I manually change the URL in browser to http://www.plumbers.co.nz/forum/classifieds/sa=placebuy&id=6 it shows the page.

I try to change htaccess but couldn't get right rule, I also try to change url code in files but that not help.

Please can you help me.

Replies to your email

This is caused by mod_security
Option 1 read over
http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Mod_security_-_Having_problems_with_mod_security
Best bet is to ask your host to disable mod_security for your website

Option 2
Manually change the classifieds files

Open sources/Classifieds2.php
Find All
Code: [Select]
;id=
Replace with
Code: [Select]
&id=

Open thmes/default/classfiieds2.template.php
Find All
Code: [Select]
;id=
Replace with
Code: [Select]
&id=

Hello Admin,

Thanks for your reply.

I had tried both method as you suggested. mod_security and manually replace code in files. unfortunately both didn't worked.

I would like to bring your attention on given url

not working: http://www.plumbers.co.nz/forum/classifieds&sa=placebuy&id=6
working: http://www.plumbers.co.nz/forum/classifieds/sa=placebuy&id=6

as you can see the difference between url is query string separator in first url there is classifieds&sa=placebuy and in second url there is classifieds/sa=placebuy

I didn't understand other add on are working fine with SEF but not classified.

I didn't changed code apart from what you suggested above.

I have attached respective files, would you please go through them and help me.

Regards,

The classified files look fine

Looks like a bug with the seo mod which is rewriting the urls

I would disable it from rewriting the classifieds urls
maybe something added to the .htaccess files such as
Code: [Select]
RewriteRule ^classifieds/?$ /classifieds/ [L,QSA]
[code]
[/code]

The seo mods is rewriting the classifieds urls breaking it from working.
You could also trry renaming the classifieds folder to something else and then changing that in your classifieds settings area.

Contact the author of the SEO mod and see if there is a way to disable the action rewriting for the classified system. That is the cause of the problems right now.
