« on: July 09, 2013, 04:37:49 pm »
I have a ton of photos to bulk upload to a user.  How do I accomplish this?

I have just installed SMF Gallery lite and then upgraded to Pro.  None of my users have set up a gallery yet.  So, when I choose the "Select Category" for User Gallery, there's nothing there.

Is there something that I need to do (as the admin) to create a gallery for them?

There is a setting under Admin -> Gallery Configuration -> Settings

Called "Create a Default User Gallery Category"

When the user first logs into the gallery if that option is checked will create a default category for them to upload pictures in their user gallery.

If you are the admin you need to first create a gallery category for them in the user if you are uploading the pictures for them.

Currently there is no bulk change of ownership of photos. The other option would be use the ftp import option but you would you would have to copy the images to the gallery/ftp folder and then import them using the admin -> gallery -> ftp import feature there you can set the owner of the photo and what gallery they should be in.

I did that, the photos transfer into the users gallery, only I continue to own the photo.
Now I have a couple thousand photos I have to edit by hand and change the owner to them.

Any chance you could add this feature?

Possibly for the next release.

You could use an sql query.  such as the following

Code: [Select]
UPDATE smf_gallery_pic SET ID_MEMBER = #### WHERE USER_ID_CAT = ####

All that is needed is the user's member id and the category which you added all the pictures to.
