SMF store right for me? Just some questions...
« on: November 02, 2013, 08:49:35 am »
Here are some question I would like to ask if SMF store is right for me.

1. Is SMF store just Admin store front or both members and Admin? Meaning that will members be able to add/edit/delete and post their items for sale or just Admin? Discard the rest of the questions if only Admin can add or post item for sale. That means this is not the right mod for me.

2. If members can add or post item for sale. What is the cost? Does it cost credits or points? Then I'm sure they will have to buy credit from the site right?

3. How do the members get pay when someone purchase their item? Does the payment go directly to the members Paypal's account, or it goes to the Admin paypal's account and then the Admin would have to make payout?

4. Does it require the members to have Premier, business, or Business pro paypal's account to receive payment? Or a regular paypal account will do? I'm sure it is required for the Admin to have a business paypal account right?

Thanks for answering...

1. Can be both. For user's you can setup store categories which allow users' wit the user store permission to post their own items for sale.

2. At the moment does not cost the user anything. What you could do to charge a user membership fee to move them into a new custom group to place orders in the store. You can create that item in the Store then when members buy it.

3. It goes straight to the members paypal account.

4. Haven't really tested that part.

I also have a demo if needed.

I don't quit understand what you mean. Do you mean that if I create a new group, give them the right permission then only those in that new group can make purchase in the shop? My big question is how can the Admin earn income when it's total free for members to sell within the shop?

How about this. Lets say I have a group that called VIP group. To become a VIP group you have to pay a monthly subscriptions. Now that their in the VIP group, they can post items for sell at no cost. Because they already pay me the subscriptions of becoming a VIP member. Will that work?

Sure, I would love to have a access as Admin and User to test this mod. Thanks.

Yes it is all permission based.
The admin won't earn anything off members. Unless you do an item to move to a vip group or sometning like that.

Where or how can I add products as Admin and regular member?

Where is my profile that need to enter my paypal account?

And it would be nice if we can use BBCODE in the store HomePage text area...

How come when I click MY PRODUCTS, nothing listed?

Inside a category there is an add item link. Or the add item link in the main admin panel area on the store page.

Paypal is setup in the admin area under Store Congfiguration.
For users they have a box to enter a paypal address when entering an item to sell in the store.

Could be a feature request.

Only shows products that you own/setup using your username.

PERMISSION mode: There's no way I can set permission to a specific group to ADD and EDIT their own product? Because I only see Admin Store. And if I checked Admin Store, it gives them the ability to ADD/EDIT/DELETE all the products including the ones that it's not their owned. For sure that's not what I want. What if a member just delete all others member stuff????

Ok so they would have to enter their paypal account every time when adding new product where it said Alternate PayPal payment address
?
Can this be done within the profile? I mean enter their paypal account in their profile and save it.

You give them just the User Store permission for the category you want users to add products and the user store permission in the membergroup.
That allows them only the option to edit/add/delete their own products.

Admin Store - is only for Store admins

Sorry, but I am confused. Where can I set that permissions?

Also category level give user store permission.

That's what I thought. Now I can see it...

Hey, it would be nice if you can have the ADD PRODUCT button with the other buttons Search    My Orders    My Products    My Transactions    Wish List because I didn't know that you're suppose to click on or select the category to see the ADD PRODUCT button. Or have it down the button like the Admin point of view. Or both will be nice.

Hmm not sure about category level store permission or where to set that?

If I buy both the license($89) and the copy right remove($50). Will you do this two things for me? Add the ADD PRODUCT button with the rest of the buttons Search, My Orders, My Products, My Transactions, Wish List, and also have it down the button like Admin point of view. The ability for members to enter/edit their Paypal account in their profile and then have it automatically filled in at Alternate PayPal payment address when adding product?

Thank you very much and the answering all my questions. Very appreciated.

Oh, one last questions. Will the license ever expire when I pay $89 for it?
