Pending state in addition to Approved/unApproved

Would it be possible to have a third state for pictures, in addition to approved and unapproved ?

Basically the idea is quite simple : after being upload, picture are waiting for approval (or not). Their state should be "pending". Then based on the decision of the moderator, the picture is either Approved or unApproved.

Is it something easy to add ? I would be interested by this feature.
