Can't create custom fields

When I try and create custom fields I get an error message, cannot load "main" template. Help!

What SMF version?
And is it when you click a link or hit submit?

SMF 1.1.19. It happens when I click on "Add Field" within edit category.

When trying to uninstall 3.02 prior to installing 3.0.2b I get the following errors.

I think index template is because of the modifications we made to place the classifieds in my main index but am unsure of why sus and managepermissions might fail.

Is there a simple code hack I can make to my current installation or must I start tracking down all these anomolies?

You don't need to uninstall the old version.
You can just install the new package and it will work.
