Enotify - assistance
« on: December 03, 2014, 05:55:37 am »
I installed enotify but it overloaded my server. So I went ahead an uninstalled it but the cron jobs are still running the queries.

The only thing I can find is that the settings in the database were not removed.

Edit Edit    Copy Copy    Delete Delete    enotify_life    15000
Edit Edit    Copy Copy    Delete Delete    enotify_refresh    10000
Edit Edit    Copy Copy    Delete Delete    enotify_pms    1
Edit Edit    Copy Copy    Delete Delete    enotify_replies    1
Edit Edit    Copy Copy    Delete Delete    enotify_exp    48
Edit Edit    Copy Copy    Delete Delete    disableHostnameLookup    0

Is it safe to just delete these from the database and that will stop the queries from running

I would look at the scheduled tasks table and remove the entoify files added to the forum just in case.

This is the problem when I check who is online every second i am getting an enotify notice even though i have uninstalled it.

How does the fake cron work could there be something left in that.

I would make sure the files that enotify adds are removed from the sources directory. If they are then it won't run any of the queries at all.
The requests you might be seeing is people who left their browser open with your site still loaded.

If it just sends enotify in the whos online you should be ok because it won't do anything since the code is removed.

Yeah but this means I can not view what the users are doing on the whos online.

I will wait a day or two to see if it clears up in case it is in their browser cache.

I would upgrade your webhosting account these mods are more intensive and use more resources.
