Any downside to not uninstalling the lite version first?

Like a dummy, I didn't read the readme in the package and installed the pro version on top of the lite version.  Now when I go to try to uninstall the lite version, it's giving me warnings that it's not recommended.  So... is there any harm to keep the lite installation?  If I have to uninstall the lite installation, will I lose all the member personal gallery that have been uploaded with the pro installation?

Uninstalling doesn't remove any gallery data/or information
Downside of not uninstalling. Is you will need to manually modify at least Sources/ManagePermissions.php file.

Can I then uninstall both lite and pro and reinstall pro without losing any settings or photos from the gallery?

Based on what I just read here, if I currently have the lite version installed and I uninstall Lite and install Pro, the Pro version will pick up the pre-existing photos, etc., from the Lite version, so that nothing is lost in the upgrade?

Am I understanding this correctly?

The reason tat I ask is that I currently have the lite version installed, but I just bought the Pro version and want to know what to expect when I do the upgrade from lite to pro.

Yes that is correct. Uninstall the old version then install pro. All data is kept and is not removed.
