New database error
« on: February 20, 2015, 05:41:05 am »
I'm getting a new gallery database syntax error when users try post image upload today ...... any ideas what might be causing this?
They are unable to upload an image.

I'll attach an error log screenshot.

Best wishes
Mike

What version of SMF Gallery Pro are you using?

What version of SMF Gallery Pro are you using?

I'm using gallery 6.7 with SMF 2.0.9

Have asked more members to try posting an image, as I can upload photos fine and it could possibly be just one member that is experiencing this problem. I'm not seeing any errors for other members in the error logs.

Best wishes
Mike

Yeah I am not seeing any easy way to trigger that error. I do suggest though upgrading to 7.0 for SMF Gallery Pro

Do we simply uninstall in package manager and then install the new version without deleting the files?

Yes that is the best way to upgrade for this release.

Install done, I'll let you know if this solves the error.

I'm noticing a new bug since the install when I view users online, this appears at the top of the page:
Quote
// Begin SMF Gallery $txt['whoall_gallery'] = 'In the Gallery'; // END SMF Gallery Strings

Open themes/default/languages/who.english.php
Find near end of that file.
Code: [Select]
?>
And move it all the way to the end of the file

Should have remembered that from the last update :) ...... fixed now thanks.

Back to the original error problem. It is not just the one user, I am getting an error too now.

If I'm in the gallery and I select edit for my user gallery, I get the attached "user gallery error".

If I try to add an image to a post via post image upload, I get the attached "post image upload error", which I personally wasn't getting before the upgrade, but at least one member was getting.

I can still upload an image via the main gallery without problems.

Strange!

That has helped with the line error thanks.

We are still unable to add images to posts with the post image upload mod. We can add to categories directly via the gallery, but not via post image upload for most categories, it only works if we select the main gallery.

Best wishes

Are you getting an error with the post image upload? So just user user galleries don't work with it is that correct?

Just did a full test with post image upload, uploading 3 images to one post at the same time.

I selected main category for one, a second category for two and a user gallery for three.

All three images uploaded and displayed in the post.

I then went to the gallery and the only image of the three that is now in one of those categories is the one in the user gallery.

All three appear under "recent items", clicking on the recent items thumbnails - the one uploaded to the main category will open, the one uploaded to the user gallery will open, but the one uploaded to the second category has an error message that says "No picture exists"

The only error that this produces in the error logs is the usual "Undefined index: keywords", which I believe is caused by not bothering to enter keywords in post image upload. This relates to line 2260 in Sources Gallery2 . php

Best wishes
Mike
