Ad Seller Pro path is not writable!
« on: December 11, 2015, 10:27:47 am »
I am using version 2.1 with SMF SMF 2.0.10. I had Ad Seller pro working for a while. I deleted the ad I was using and tried to enter a new one. now I am seeing this message at the bottom of my settings page and nothing I do will upload an ad. [sigh]

my Ad Seller file path is:

   /services/webpages/n/e/MY SITENAME.com/SMF_2/adseller/

and my Ad Seller File URL is:

   http://SITENAME.com/SMF_2/adseller/

when I create an ad I can't seem to upload the jpg. it does nothing...

You need to make that path writable by the webserver. Using file permissions. If you can't contact your host to do it for you.
That will fix the image upload issue

I am looking at the file permissions and it's set to 777, which is read/write/execute...

I would contact your host and double check the path is correct under adseller pro settings.

I rechecked it and there in fact was an error. strange because it worked before... the ad does seem to be functioning now.

FWIW I just bought the upgrade to the latest version. should I install that?

what is the best way to do that? and will it retain my existing settings?

thnX for your help

(PS my wife uses your program on her site friendsofcc.com and likes it)

To upgrade to a new version uninstall the old version if you can then install the new version.

Otherwise just install the new version on top of the old version.
