How many products can I display on page?

In the demo store, I've added some products, but only see 4 at any given time. Is is possible to see more via a slider or the container set to overflow:auto?

Those are main index page blocks normally looks best with just 4 at a time.
This is controlled by the store admin -> layout -> "Number of items to show in the index Blocks" property

If you click on a category there are more than 4 items per page and are controlled by these settings
