Local links as titles

Hi,

   I had seen at one SMF community that the local links were displayed as Title of that board/message. I tried to look for that feature on SMF mods and got this.
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1293

But this is not supported by my version of SMF 1.1.8. Can anyone here tell me to do it manually. Secondly is there any way to change the index.php?action=forum to forum.html and so on for all the smf actions. PHP comes no where. What is the name of that mod please do tell.
