A couple of questions
« on: October 30, 2018, 06:33:13 pm »
I've got a couple of questions about SMF Gallery Pro. Long story short, I recently realized that one of the sites I help out with is still using Gallery2 (a long-dead PHP-based photo gallery script that I developed an SMF integration for years ago). I would like to convert them to SMF Gallery Pro. The gallery is set up so all the photos are in users' albums (with some users having sub-albums and such), so it looks like my best option is going to be to import each user's photos manually once I get the new system set up.

My questions related to this are as follows:
1. Is there any way to just show albums from one category on the main page rather than listing "User Galleries" and requiring people to click through from there? All of the photos will be in user galleries.
2. Can I set up users' galleries in advance or do they have to do it manually? I am running SMF Gallery Pro on another site but I don't remember how it works regarding that.

1. As a gallery admin you can create categories in main. And allow users access to those categories to upload media items.
Currently specific user galleries cant' be featured on the main page but could be possible with minor changes.

2. Yes you can setup user galleries in advance. As a gallery admin you can go to the user galleries and click on a member's username to then be taken to their own gallery which you can then setup for them. I recommend turning on the "Create a Default User Gallery Category" to speed up the process for users wanting to create their own gallery.
