Error message in Gallery Pro
« on: May 21, 2019, 12:33:53 pm »
All of a sudden we are getting the following error message when trying to view our Gallery.

"Expression #14 of SELECT list is not in GROUP BY clause and contains nonaggregated column 'fiftyplu_FPF001.c.view' which is not functionally dependent on columns in GROUP BY clause; this is incompatible with sql_mode=only_full_group_by
File: /home/fiftyplu/public_html/forum/Themes/default/Gallery2.template.php
Line: 4440

Note: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum's files are currently at version SMF 2.0.15, whilst your database is at version 2.0.1. The above error might possibly go away if you execute the latest version of upgrade.php."

Now the site files report that everything is up to date, so I'm loathe to run the latest upgrade.php as this will remove all the mods, which I don't really want to do.

Is there some other way round this issue?
Chas

Easy way either install newest of smf gallery pro again.
Or edit your my.cnf or my.ini for mysql and change
sql_mode=""

And then restart mysql

Thanks for the quick reply,

I regret not having enough knowledge here.

I've looked in the root of the website for these config files but they are not there and there are no options on the site cPanel for MYSQL settings.

There is a user.ini file in the root of the forum, can I add the edit there?

When you say restart mysql, do you mean reboot the server?

Thanks
Chas

Do you have a VPS/Server?

If so this might work
https://help.whmcs.com/m/installation/l/678317-disabling-mysql-strict-mode
Then restart the mysql service
