How to seperate/determine pictures from videos

Any way to show on the thumbnail view whether its a picture or video and also to be able to sort them as such? When you upload a video you have to upload a preview image so its just appears to be a picture and the viewer wouldn't know that its actually a video unless they happen to click on it.

A good idea just have to think about it how it would be displayed differently.
